

Missouri MUFON
Missouri MUFON has been actively investigating UFOs since 1969. MUFON was founded in St. Louis Missouri. At that time it was known as the Midwest UFO Network. Later, the name was changed to The Mutual UFO Network. Our current State Director began her mission in 2009 and shortly after, Margie Kay joined her.

Missouri MUFON is very active and has a large number of UFO sightings annually. We are consistently in the top 10 states for UFO sightings.
​
We have developed an exceptional team in Missouri, with many experts in their fields who contribute to the search for answers.

State Director: Debbie Ziegelmeyer
Debbie Ziegelmeyer has served as the State Director for Missouri MUFON since 2009. She is a rescue dive instructor and serves as the Director of the MUFON Underwater Research and Recovery Team, and serves on the MUFON Board of Directors. Debbie is the author of The Alien Colonization of Earth's Waterways and The 50th Anniversary of the SE Missouri UFO Flap.

Assistant State Director: Margie Kay
Margie Kay has served as the ASD for Missouri MUFON since 2009. She also serves as the Central Region Director. Kay is the author of 17 books about paranormal phenomena. She is co-author of The 50th Anniversary of the SE Missouri UFO Flap and the host of MUFON MIDWEST RADIO.

​Chief Investigator (East) and Lab Analyst: Mel Van Vickle
​​​Mel Van Vickle joined MUFON in November 2019 and has served as the Chief Investigator for the State of Missouri since January 2022. Additionally, in 2025 he was appointed Supervisor of the MUFON Laboratory. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from University of Missouri – Columbia in 1978, with post-graduate training in Geodesy, Geophysics, Geospatial Science, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing while employed as a DoD civilian with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). He retired from NGA in 2012 after 33 years serving as a computer programmer, systems administrator, telecommunications engineer, and Senior Computer Systems Engineer.

​​​​Chief Investigator (WEST): Carl Harper
Carl Harper is a USAF Security Police Veteran and a retired 40-year Law Enforcement Officer. He served as Chief of Police and Sergeant with a Sheriff’s Department. He joined the Civil Air Patrol and obtained the rank of Lieutenant specializing in Communications and emergency services. He joined MUFON in 2021 and is an active Missouri Field Investigator, State Section Director, Star Team Area Research (STAR) member, and works with the Case Assistance Group (CAG). He has had articles published in the MUFON Journal and the local Regional Journal. He has additionally appeared on YouTube podcasts and local Facebook Pages.

Time: 1:00 pm lunch, 2:00 pm Presentation
Open to the public and MUFON members. l No children under age 18, please. Handicap accessible.
$5 fee pp. Please plan to have lunch as we get the space for free in exchange for everyone having a meal. Make sure you are on our newletter list in case we have to make meeting changes.

We need help setting up and replacing chairs and tables at each meeting
Open to all MUFON members and the public Free admission. Donations appreciated. No food is available but guests are allowed to bring a non-alcoholic beverage. There are vending machines at the library.
