James will be greatly missed by me and all of his colleagues at Missouri MUFON. It was a pleasure working with him over the years. James was a very thorough field investigator for MUFON, and completed multiple reports. James also operated MADAR node 40.
James had a BS in Education from CMSU, an MA in Exceptional Education, and an MA in Learning Disabilities, along with PhD hours in Archeology. He was a retired teacher for the Kansas City school system, a watercolor artist, amateur radio operator, Civil War reenactor, and an avid birder and hunter.
He served as a Section Director for SW Missouri, and Chief MADAR Analyst. James also worked with investigators from other states to help solve problems. We will miss his compelling stories!
James discovered that a person could capture an ET by using an SLS camera. During an event when all of the appliances in his house went off and came back on by themselves, and a humming sound was heard outside, he decided to try using the SLS camera and captured something in his living room that he believed to be an extraterrestrial. He felt the presence of something that he couldn’t see with the naked eye before filming. This could potentially help other investigators when they do field work.

James was a guest on Un-X News Podcast, and was interviewed on KCTV 5 In July of 2023. Link: https://www.kctv5.com/2023/07/06/ufo-enthusiasts-hope-government-reports-bring-answers-about-aerial-phenomena/
Jim is survived by his wife, Margaret Kelly. Rest in Peace, Jim. We hope you now have all the answers about UFOs.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 4:30 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3333 Broadway, Kansas City, Missouri on February 5, 2025 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 4:30 PM.
