New MUFON Central Region

MUFON has created regional chapter directors across the United States in order to help states with membership recruitment, field investigator training, meetings, and public awareness. The Central Region consists of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.

In order to facilitate field investigator training, I set up a monthly training session on ZOOM on the Third Thursday of the month, with experts in their fields of study. Field investigators from the Central Region will receive email notices about these sessions and are welcome to join. We are looking for persons who have specialized knowledge in the areas of analysis, testing, site investigations, interviewing witnesses, cameras, equipment, etc. to conduct training sessions. If you would like to submit a class, please send the information to mufoncentralregiondir@gmail.com.

We are also conducting monthly presentations by experts in their fields. These are held on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm on the new MUFON Central Region YouTube Channel. Thes presentations are live, but they are hosted on YouTube so you may watch them at your convenience. Our first presentation is Ryan Wood, but older presentations held by Midwest MUFON are being uploaded to the channel.

A Field Investigator meeting is also held once per month and hosted by Mel Van Vickle, Chief Investigator for Missouri MUFON. This meeting is held to support our FIs who wish to discuss cases or obtain assistance with cases. We will keep the discussion to Central Region MUFON cases only.

Please note that training sessions are not held on holidays.

A new website is being developed for the region, with a page for each state. State Directors or their representative may send information about meetings and events to me via email and I will add it to the site. The address is https://www.mufoncentralregion.com.

The Missouri MUFON website will be taken down soon to avoid redundancy.
